KidsHealth® Permissions Guidelines

All the content on — and other Nemours sites — is the property of The Nemours Foundation and protected by copyright.

KidsHealth allows some reprinting of KidsHealth content — but only under the conditions listed below.

The following guidelines apply to all "KidsHealth Websites", including,, KidsHealth in the Classroom, and KidsHealth en español.

Due to the large number of requests to reprint content, KidsHealth cannot respond promptly to all requests. We strongly advise you to read these guidelines first and contact us if your question is not answered below.

Linking to KidsHealth Websites

You are permitted to link to any KidsHealth website, at no cost, provided you use direct links that take users to the KidsHealth servers. Framing of KidsHealth websites is prohibited.

To help you establish links to KidsHealth content, you may download the following KidsHealth linking graphics:

Reciprocal Linking: KidsHealth does not participate in reciprocal linking programs or link exchanges with other websites.

Reprinting KidsHealth Content Offline (in Print)

KidsHealth grants limited permission to reprint articles offline, at no charge. You do not need written permission provided the following guidelines are followed:

  1. Provide Proper Credit to KidsHealth. If you are reprinting KidsHealth content within a print publication, the following byline must be included:

  2. Do Not Edit the Article. KidsHealth asks that the full article be reprinted, when feasible. If you are only interested in excerpting a section of an article, KidsHealth will allow this when a link to the full KidsHealth article is included at the end of the excerpt.

    Whether you are reprinting the content in full or excerpting a section, you may not change, edit, or adapt the content of an article without written consent from KidsHealth.

  3. Use the Printer-Friendly Version for Handouts. KidsHealth allows articles to be printed and used as handouts, provided they are distributed at no charge to the recipients. There is no limit to the number of copies that can be printed; use the "printer-friendly" version, which can be accessed from a link at the bottom of each article.

  4. Do Not Charge a Fee for Access to KidsHealth Content. KidsHealth does not charge a fee to reprint our content within a print publication. Therefore, we do not allow viewing of our content in print publications to be subject to a fee. Certain publications are exempt from this restriction, such as educational textbooks and subscription-based magazines, and these publications should contact to obtain written permission.

  5. Use of KidsHealth Content Is Limited. Your use of KidsHealth content is limited to reprinting no more than 10 articles per publication. If you wish to provide your readers with regular access to KidsHealth content, such as a recurring KidsHealth column, feature, or section, we encourage you to contact to discuss using our content regularly.

Using KidsHealth Content Online (on Websites)

KidsHealth licenses its content, via xml or hosted feeds, which can be private-labeled and displayed within your site’s navigation. Copying and displaying KidsHealth content on third-party websites, either freestanding or by framing, without a license is prohibited.

However, KidsHealth will grant you permission to use up to a 200-word excerpt in electronic format, such as an e-newsletter or PowerPoint presentation, provided that the excerpt is properly sourced as being from and provides a direct link to the original KidsHealth article at the end of the excerpt.

Any other use of KidsHealth content on third-party websites is strictly prohibited.

Using Images From KidsHealth Websites

KidsHealth, through The Nemours Foundation, owns the copyrights to the majority of images found on the KidsHealth websites and will grant reprinting permission, if possible. Anyone wishing to reprint an image should email the image or link to so we can determine the copyright holder. If KidsHealth is the copyright holder, permission will be granted and the following information must be published below the image:
